Fifth Grade

Welcome to 5th Grade!!  Get ready for a great year of growth!!

Mrs. Harkins, Mr. Replogle and Mrs. Wagner are our fifth grade team of teachers.  If you have any questions concerning your child's progress or issues relating to your child's academic development, please contact us.

We have an e-mail blast system for this year....be sure to contact your teacher if you did not sign up and would like to be a part of this communication system!

READ, READ, READ!!! Parents, the best way for your child to become a better reader is to READ EVERYDAY! Find out what interests your student and go with it. It is just like the answer to the age-old question...."How do you get to Carnegie Hall?".... PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!!!

MATH FACTS MATTER!! It is the expectation that your student comes to fifth grade KNOWING their basic math facts. This includes ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION, AND DIVISION! If your child is weak in any of these areas, we suggest flashcard drills on a nightly basis until they are learned. The math concepts taught in 5th grade are a lot of application, so the better your child knows their basic facts, the better they can handle the higher level math concepts that are ever present in fifth grade!

Please help us to remind your child that their attitude and behavior in class can directly impact their growth and achievement in school.  A positive attitude, along with great behavior, goes a long way in ensuring that your child will meet, and even hopefully exceed, the expectations for this important year of learning!!!

We are looking forward to working together with you and your child this year.  Please feel free to contact any of us if you have questions or concerns about your child's progress.

Only when we work together can we achieve great things!
