Readers Are Leaders
Mowrie A. Ebner Elementary is fortunate to have 2 Title I Instructional Support Teachers. I am one of them. I teach children how to read better and to talk about what they have read. I am blessed to be a part of Ebner, as I have always loved working here.
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be at teacher. I graduated from Penn State University with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I started my career as a substitute teacher before getting a 1 year position as a 2nd grade teacher at Juniata Elementary. I was then hired at Ebner as a 6th grade teacher for 3 years, during which I completed my Master of Education degree from St. Francis University. I then spent one year at the former Washington & Jefferson Elementary as a PSSA/Technology Coach. After leaving there, I returned to Ebner to teach 3rd grade for 4 years. When our former Instructional Coach, Mrs. Grassmyer, resigned, I stepped into the role of Instructional Coach/Title I Teacher. I have since returned to St. Francis University to complete my Reading Specialist Certification. I have embraced every position change that has come my way. I will never know what the future holds, so I try to make the best of each new role I am given. :-)
