Second Grade

 

Second grade is a fun, exciting and very busy place. 

 

We will be working through 6 different themes in reading this year.  Students will also be placed in guided reading and LLI groups based on their individual needs. 

Math skills we will be covering include, number sense, addition and subtraction with regrouping, money, time and measurement, just to name a few. 

Spelling words will be tested weekly. 

Students are also expected to write paragraphs in second grade. These paragraphs must include a topic sentence, three key ideas and details. Science, health, and social studies will also be taught.
