Homework
One of the aims of homework is to help students develop effective work habits and self-discipline.
Assignments are provided as a means for students to have independent practice and as a means for teachers to be sure that the student understands the assignment.
Sometimes homework is assigned in order that students can complete unfinished work without time restraints.
Some homework assignments engage students in projects that can be done more effectively at home than in school.
School Board Policy states that elementary homework should not exceed twenty minutes for primary grades (1-3) or forty-five minutes for intermediate grades (4-6).
Please be sure to obtain a copy of your classroom teacher’s homework policy.
